Sound Eater!
I am currently on a train from Madrid to Pontevedra and took the time to add some improvements to the game.
Mainly 2 things:
A little graphics update:
As some menu items are already sprites I gave in and made an arrow sprite to get fancier star selection graphcis. Now a row of animating arrows shows the upcoming destination. Also I made some of the lines be more visible.
Somehow and unfortunately the star color still is no indicator about health, bc trying to do add for you having to visit a star more than once just made a buggy mess. I am on my weakest last legs of the day and cant figure that out right now XD
Tada! Sound:
I made a very quick and dirty music loop in 1BITDRAGON, saved it as a mp3 recording but lack the software on my Laptop to cut it to a good loop. Also there is a weird Attack to the Synth in the beginning but I wanted to set the scene and a flavour. Gladly 1BITDRAGON offers chiptune style sounds as well, so I could basically do music in the direction I wanted to go and that is similar to eg pico 8 projects I do.
Although I have to say, that I lacked a lot of creativity (probably the train isnt the best environment for that work, lol).
Then I made some SFX with bfxr and worked on a sound system that randomizes the sfx for every interaction. Phaser.io is nice there, because I can control the rate and tune easily, but nevertheless I also used multiple slightly differing sounds.
Now its almost a little unbearable to hear my game while coding, which should tell me something about my sounddesign. HELP! is appreciated. If you are a sound person and want to help hmu :)
